We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and strategic Senior People and Projects Advisor to join our People and Culture team. This is a full-time fixed term position until September 2027Reporting to the Head of People, this role combines senior business partnering with the opportunity to lead and deliver organisation wide people initiatives that strengthen capability, culture and performance.

This is a role for someone who enjoys thinking strategically while remaining hands-on, building trusted relationships and driving meaningful change across a complex and purpose-driven organisation.

Te Whiwhingamahi | The opportunity

As our Senior People and Projects Advisor, you'll partner with senior leaders across the organisation to shape and deliver people strategies that support our kaupapa and organisational goals.

Working closely with leaders and colleagues across the People and Culture team, you'll translate strategy into practical outcomes, leading initiatives that enhance engagement, capability, workforce planning and organisational effectiveness.

In this role, you'll:

  • Partner with senior leaders to provide strategic and operational people advice
  • Lead and deliver organisation-wide people projects and change initiatives
  • Use workforce data and insights to inform planning and decision-making
  • Provide expert employment relations advice and support leaders to manage people matters effectively
  • Coach and influence leaders to build capability and strengthen people leadership
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the People Workplan
  • Support organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Mentor and provide guidance to a People and Projects Advisor
  • Champion pro-equity approaches and culturally responsive practices throughout the organisation

He kōrero mōu| About you

You'll be an experienced HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced and evolving environment and enjoys partnering with leaders to achieve meaningful outcomes.

You'll bring:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
  • At least five years' experience in a senior HR or People partnering role supporting senior leaders
  • Strong employment relations expertise, ideally within a unionised environment
  • Experience designing and delivering people initiatives across complex organisations
  • Proven success building trusted relationships and coaching leaders
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Confidence using data and insights to drive decisions and influence outcomes
  • Sound knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice
  • A genuine commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, pro-equity and culturally responsive practice
  • A passion for supporting people and creating positive workplace experiences
