Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
If you are passionate about proactive, strengths-based healthcare, it doesn’t get much earlier than Plunket. We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team across the North Shore, West Auckland and Hibiscus Coast. While you will have a primary area, we work collaboratively as a team and from time to time you may provide cover across the wider region. This is a permanent, full-time position.
Pay rates for our Registered Nurses range from $66,222 ($33.51 per hour) to $94,842 ($48.00 per hour), depending on experience.
Plunket Nurses partner with whānau to support the growth, development and wellbeing of tamariki, recognising that whānau are the experts in their own lives. As a trusted clinical advisor, you will walk alongside whānau through both moments of celebration and challenge, supporting them to build confidence, knowledge and capability in caring for their pēpi.
You will meet with whānau in their homes and in clinics, where you will build strong, respectful relationships and take a holistic, culturally responsive approach that honours each whānau’s values, strengths and aspirations. Your practice will support whānau to identify what is working well, alongside areas where additional support may be helpful.
Working in the community during a cost-of-living crisis means many whānau are navigating complex pressures. Our role sits at the intersection of clinical care, advocacy and social support, ensuring pēpi are nurtured in safe, healthy and thriving environments. You will be supported through a 6-week orientation programme and ongoing preceptor support, enabling you to grow confidently into community-based practice.
He kōrero mōu | About you
Community nursing is dynamic and whānau-led. Your day may include a mix of planned visits, changing priorities and situations that require thoughtful clinical judgement. You will be adaptable, resourceful and comfortable working with uncertainty, while maintaining a calm, respectful presence with whānau.
You genuinely enjoy working with pēpi, while recognising that much of your mahi involves supporting caregivers. You are an excellent listener, able to ask meaningful questions in a way that is mana-enhancing and non-judgemental. You value diversity and are comfortable working with whānau from all walks of life, cultures and experiences.
With a growing Chinese population, the ability to provide care in Mandarin would be an advantage but is not essential.
