Registered Nurse - Hutt Valley

  • Nursing role with a difference!

  • Are you passionate about improving health outcomes for children?

  • Are you a Registered Nurse or a Well Child trained Nurse?

Plunket Nurses have a special place in our community and hearts and you could be the person we are looking for to join the Whanau Awhina Plunket family! It’s exciting times as we breathe life into a new vision and embark on a strategic journey over the next five years aimed at achieving generational change and really making a difference to the lives of New Zealand children, families and whanau.  We believe that in the first 1000 days of a child’s life, we can make the difference of a lifetime - who wouldn’t want to be part of that?

As New Zealand's largest provider of support services for the development, health and wellbeing of children under the age of five, we have a trusted and respected brand but we are not about to rest on our laurels and become complacent. Whanau Awhina Plunket people are passionate about what they do and have a shared desire to make a difference. We’re embarking on an exciting transformation and you could help shape it.

You’ll play a vital part in assessing baby’s development at key stages, promoting health and education for children up to five years of age, and supporting care-givers to develop their parenting skills.  You’ll manage a client portfolio and will enjoy building relationships with whanau and families.

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Registered Nurse/Plunket Nurse to work on a permanent part time (0.7fte) basis to provide client services within the Naenae/Belmont Kelson area in the Hutt Valley. If you feel you are up to the challenge then we want to hear from you!

To be successful you will:

• Be a Registered Nurse with APC.

• Have completed, or have a commitment to complete a one year postgraduate certificate in Well Child Health.

• Have an understanding and commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi and working in a strongly pro-equity focussed organisation

• Be fluent in written and spoken English

• Hold a full New Zealand driver's licence

• Be a permanent resident or NZ citizen

If you have experience working with families from diverse cultural and socio economic backgrounds or a passion for doing so, this could be the role for you. We will support you to develop your community nursing skills and through the Well Child Tamariki Ora postgraduate certificate (if required).
