Registered Nurse - Auckland Central and Surrounding Areas

TeWhiwhingamahi | The opportunity

You will walk alongside an eclectic range of whānau performing top-to-toe development and growth assessments and provide clinical advice in homes and clinics with the aim of empowering whānau to succeed and prosper in their journey raising their tamariki. Your mahi will include referring to and working with other community supports to ensure a safe healthy living environment for whanau.

The salary band for this role is between $66,222 ($33.51 per hour) - $94,842 ($48 per hour) depending on experience.

This role is about more than just caring for pēpi — it’s about standing alongside whānau during times of hardship, uncertainty, or concern. The role involves screening for and supporting whānau who may be experiencing family harm, mental health difficulties and meeting whānau who live in different levels of deprivation.We’re looking for someone who can build trusting relationships, listen deeply, and respond with compassion and clarity. You’ll be part of a team that manages care and support thoughtfully, ensuring whānau receive the right help at the right time, grounded in equitable and Plunket values of maia, manaaki, mahaki and tuhono.

This role requires a high level of autonomy and self-direction.You’ll need to be confident making decisions, managing your time effectively, and navigating complex situations. Strong problem-solving skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to stay grounded under pressure are essential. Above all else, we place whānau at the centre of what we do and how we make decisions, and you will share this value.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Be a Registered Nurse
  • Hold the right to work in Aotearoa
  • Hold or be able to obtain an Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Hold a full or restricted clean NZ Drivers Licence
  • Strong clinical judgement and relational practice
  • Be committed to completing Post Graduate Certificate in Well Child Tamariki ora (we will pay for this)
