Project Manager


At Whānau Āwhina Plunket, people are at the heart of what we do. Our frontline kaimahi impact the lives of whānau from across Aotearoa on a day-to-day basis, providing reassurance and clinical advice in homes, clinics and in community settings.

We’re seeking the support of a strategic and collaborative Project Manager to join our team in a full-time fixed term position for six months from February - August 2025. We are open to applicants in any New Zealand location.

 

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join a much-loved national charity on its pro-equity journey. Have a direct impact on future generations and help to shape the future of our service by leading multiple projects, with a key focus on service delivery.

Projects include our new Nurse prescribing service and the expansion of our 24/7 PlunketLine service. These projects are already underway so you will be able to hit the ground running and work in partnership to enable delivery of agreed outcomes, on time, to budget and to agreed quality standards. Work alongside one other Project Manager to:

  • create and manage a project schedule and work plan
  • monitor progress and make adjustments as needed
  • identify risks to project implementation and develop strategies to minimise these
  • measure performance to identify areas for improvement.

 

He kōrero mōu | About you

We are looking for someone with strong project management experience, working with vendors, strategic partners and internal stakeholders. You will bring an industry recognised Project Management Certification, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to quickly develop and maintain quality internal and external relationships. Report writing and the facilitation of meetings will also be talents of yours.

You will also be/have:

  • Comfortable with both waterfall and agile delivery approaches
  • Outstanding stakeholder management experience at all levels
  • Thorough understanding of Project Management Frameworks
  • Experience managing cross functional teams and vendor delivery
  • Well-developed leadership, communication and influencing skills – both written and verbal
  • Experience in social or health services is desirable
