Playgroup Coordinator - Kerikeri

This position is for 6 hours per week. Our Kerikeri playgroup runs from 10am – 12pm on Mondays and Tuesdays. The shift will be from 9:30am – 12:30pm - this allows plenty of time for set up, pack down and administration.

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity for those who are passionate about creating an engaging environment for tamariki and a relaxed atmosphere for caregivers to build positive connections.

Plunket playgroups are an integral part of bringing communities together in an affordable and accessible manner. During these sessions, we provide the opportunity for caregivers to connect and young minds to grow and explore through play.

Our Playgroup coordinators set up sessions, and meet and greet parents and attendees to foster relationships. This role also manages the administration portion of the playgroup including term planning, health and safety and inventory of equipment and supplies.

He kōrero mōu | About you

As the heart of the playgroup, you’ll be confident in fostering new relationships with new whānau and tamariki from a broad range of backgrounds and confident communicating the playgroup rules and processes. Your relationship building skills will extend to enabling others to form relationships and building a community feel.

Ideally, you will have prior experience in setting up play sessions including craft, playdough, story or music sessions. This could be through early education or through prior personal experience in childcare.

Tamariki are often unpredictable, so you will be able to change tact and ensure that the sessions are enjoyable, safe and a positive experience for all.
