Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity 

As our People and Projects Advisor, you’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of strategic people initiatives, operational HR advice, and projects that contribute to a high-performing, values-led organisation. Working closely with the Senior People and Projects Partner, you’ll help coordinate and implement initiatives across the People and Capability function while partnering with leaders to provide practical, solutions-focused support on a range of people matters. 

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. From building trusted relationships and supporting employment relations processes to contributing to organisational projects and strengthening people practices, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across the organisation.

He kōrero mōu | About you 

You’re a capable and relationship-focused HR professional who builds strong working relationships and enjoys balancing operational HR and employment relations support with project coordination and delivery, helping to drive initiatives forward through effective coordination, collaboration, and support across the full project lifecycle. 

You’ll bring strong communication and organisational skills, along with the confidence to build trusted relationships with leaders and stakeholders across the business. You’re someone who can juggle competing priorities, maintain attention to detail, and provide practical advice while keeping people at the centre of your approach. 

You’ll also bring a collaborative and proactive mindset, with a genuine interest in supporting positive workplace culture, leadership capability and equitable outcomes for kaimahi. 

Most importantly, you’ll align with our values of Māia, Manaaki, Tūhono and Māhaki, and feel passionate about contributing to meaningful mahi that supports whānau across Aotearoa. 

Ngā pukenga me tōhunga Motuhake | Skills and Qualifications 

You’ll ideally bring: 

  • At least 4 years’ experience in Human Resources, ideally within a medium to large organisation 
  • Experience providing practical HR and employment relations advice to leaders 
  • Knowledge of NZ employment legislation, HR policies and people practices 
  • Experience supporting projects, initiatives or work programmes from planning through to implementation 
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines 
  • Confidence using workforce data and insights to support decision-making and reporting 
  • Experience working in a unionised environment is advantageous 
  • Experience supporting pro-equity, inclusion or culturally responsive practices is desirable
