  • The Community Support Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, development and facilitation of Plunket groups and volunteers to deliver community based initiatives which enable Plunket to achieve its vision and in particular to meet the needs of whānau Māori or higher needs whānau.

We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, experienced and passionate about working in the community and in particular working with Maori and Pacific whanau and communities.  They will be able to foster positive, collaborative relationships with local/ regional groups, Maori and Pacific organisations, strengthen and expand our volunteer network to support Plunket’s services and activities, ensuring volunteers have a rewarding and enriching experience

The successful candidate will be required to have the following attributes:

  • Experience in volunteering and volunteer coordination.

  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of working with Maori and Pacific whanau & communities. 

  • An ability to proactively establish networks within a community and wider region.

  • Experience or understanding of community development, volunteering, social capital and parent to parent support as well as community led projects.

  • Excellent group facilitation and communication skills, with experience in written and oral presentations.

  • Experience and confidence in working with online tools and social media platforms. 

  • A focus on quality, continuous improvement and excellence.

  • A driver’s license and own transport is essential.
