Community Services Coordinator - Gisborne (Part Time)

The world is fast changing, and the needs of whānau raising tamariki have changed dramatically in recent years. Our community services provide supplementary support to our clinical teams to support holistic whānau wellness, provide helpful services and supporting stronger community bonds.

We’re seeking a dynamic Community Services Coordinator to join our team in Gisborne on a part time (20 hours per week) permanent basis. You can choose the hours you work, we would ideally like these to be across either 4 or 5 days per week (Monday - Friday).

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

Our Community Services Coordinators ensure our community-based initiatives such as our parenting groups and programmes run smoothly, and our volunteers are well supported.  You will have the opportunity to build connections with local community groups to develop initiatives that promote healthy confident whānau and pēpi.

To support these initiatives, you might support events and fundraising initiatives and work alongside other Plunket Teams.  This role involves ensuring our volunteers are prepared, informed and feel connected to our Kaupapa.

This role requires a degree of flexibility which could be the perfect match for your needs. Working across Gisborne and Wairoa and with volunteers means that the day to day needs will change, but the mahi also allows flexibility to work from home from time to time with the ability to manage the eclectic mix of face to face, virtual and administrative work around your life.

The pay rate for this role is $27.80 per hour.

He kōrero mōu | About you

To thrive in this role, you will be confident in engaging with local iwi and be able to effectively build relationship with whānau. You will have had prior experience working in a role where you built positive relationships and were able to diagnose needs before working towards a solution. Prior experience working in a community setting or with volunteer workforce will be advantageous but not essential.

This could mean that you are a parent who has a deep understanding of the needs of whānau in your community and you’re looking to get into a role that allows you to deliver on this. We’re open to a variety of backgrounds, so long as you bring the passion for advancing and promoting services which will make a genuine difference to whānau.

You will also need a full NZ Drivers Licence – although when you do travel for work, it will be during the work day and in one of our Plunket vehicles.
