Community Fundraising Specialist


Whānau Āwhina Plunket is a charity, and Aotearoa’s largest support service for tamariki under five and their whānau. We visit more than 80% of all newborns, helping families navigate those crucial early years with confidence and care.

We are seeking a collaborative and energetic Community Fundraising Specialist to join our Fundraising team on a full-time fixed term basis to help drive our biggest peer-to-peer fundraising campaign, Dunk it for Plunket.

This is a fantastic Wellington based role for someone who thrives on relationships, loves community engagement, and is excited about delivering meaningful impact for whānau across Aotearoa. 

 

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

As our Community Fundraising Specialist for the Dunk it for Plunket campaign, you will develop and deliver an engagement and acquisition plan, reengage past supporters, and convert new prospective fundraisers. Building strong connections with schools, businesses, community groups, corporate partners and individuals will be central to your mahi. You’ll reach supporters through telefundraising, eDMs, virtual meetings, and in person visits or events, ensuring all enquiries are managed with exceptional donor care to maintain strong engagement.

In this role, you will also collaborate closely with the wider Fundraising, Marketing and Community Services teams, helping to drive cohesive and impactful campaigns. You’ll be part of a high performing team specialising in direct marketing, regular giving, peer-to-peer fundraising, philanthropy, grants, partnerships and legacy giving.

 

He kōrero mōu | About you

Our ideal applicant will bring experience in fundraising, sales or marketing support, along with excellent communication and relationship building skills. You’ll be organised, detail focused and confident in managing your time effectively, with the ability to analyse data and identify opportunities for growth. Passionate about fundraising and a great listener, you’ll be comfortable engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.

We’re looking for someone proactive, energetic and self-motivated - a driven self-starter who’s excited by the opportunity to help create, grow and deliver new and existing opportunities in the community fundraising space.

 

You will also have:

  • Strong organisational skills;
  • Confidence working with Microsoft Office;
  • The ability to generate plans and reports, and analyse and interpret data to create growth;
  • Current full NZ driver’s license.
