Board member

The Royal New Zealand Plunket Trust has three Board member roles that have reached the end of their term. Whilst all of the current Board Members have decided to reapply for another three year term, we do also invite other applicants to express their interest.  The roles will be for a 3-year term commencing in November 2019.

Plunket is committed to giving every New Zealand child the best possible start. Getting things right for children in their first 1,000 days ensures better outcomes later in life. As an $85 million business employing some 1,200 staff, we are a large organisation, with a talented team of Plunket people.

Our communities are changing and evolving. The mix of cultures, family structures and child care are changing. In response to these changes, we are striving to be a cohesive and responsive national organisation, with the needs of New Zealand families and whānau at the very centre of everything we do. We have been there for New Zealand families for 112 years, and we are focused on positioning ourselves for the future so that we are still here, improving the lives of children in another 112 years!

The Board is responsible for setting the strategic direction for Plunket and monitoring all aspects of the business, while taking into account the interests of all relevant stakeholders.

Our Board Members will already have proven experience and success as a Director.  An understanding of and affinity with Treaty of Waitangi principles, commercial acumen, stakeholder relations, and exposure to large scale transformation programmes are also amongst the desirable skills and experience mix. You will need a true affinity with our vision and purpose as an organisation, along with the interpersonal qualities required to operate effectively at Board level.

A position description and application form along with eligibility criteria can be obtained by contacting amanda.lawrence@plunket.org.nz.

Please do not apply online - applications should be made by email to amanda.lawrence@plunket.org.nz and include a covering letter and CV.
