Administrator

Ensuring all tamariki are booked in for their B4 School Checks is an important part of our mahi here at Whānau Āwhina Plunket. This is a comprehensive assessment of language, growth, behaviour, social and emotional development, and oral health across select regions in Aotearoa. These checks are done by our nurses in clinics, early childhood centres, community spaces, marae, as well as home visits.

We’re seeking the support of a B4 School Administrator on a part time fixed term basis to join our team based in our Cannon Creek office. This role is 21 hours a week, across 3-4 days. The role has an immediate start until 23rd December.

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

Getting ready to go to primary school is a special time in a young person’s development and often a busy time for whānau. To contribute towards our pro-equity journey and ensuring that our tamariki are well cared for, our B4 School Administrators reach out to whānau and caregivers of tamariki who have recently turned four years old to arrange a time and place that is convenient for them to have their B4 School check.

In addition to the phone based mahi, this position also involves some data entry and database management to ensure both our clients and staff know where they are going, who they are meeting and what to expect. You will also manage inboxes and process paperwork from external providers to then input into our systems.

In line with our pro equity journey, we also have monthly targets to ensure we meet the needs of the groups that are most in need of our services, your ability to adapt your communication style to a variety of whānau will help you to thrive in this role.

The hourly pay rate for this role is between $57,405 to $62,672 depending on experience.

He kōrero mōu | About you

As a critical part of our front-line team, being able to quickly build rapport and gain trust will be the key to your success. While ensuring each interaction with our whānau is a good one, you will also be confident in being able to work at pace and autonomously meet targets which have been set.

You'll be technology savvy and able to learn how to use new systems with ease. Despite the locations we each look after, working as a team is critical, so you will be ready to pivot if one of your co-workers need support.

This is a predominantly outbound phone-based position, so confidence will be key. Prior experience working in an outbound call centre would be advantageous, alongside a hunger to be able to play a key part in our pro-equity journey by ensuring our communities thrive.
